How do we make sure we have enough data points to make a healthy assessment to reach the ultimate goal? Preference Center is the best way to do it.

 

Getting started

In InboxSuite, each unique content is placed and grouped under specific customer journey steps. That’s why creating a healthy and successful customer journey is one of the key points to achieve your goals. Although we will cover all these customer journey steps in detail in our Initial Flows guide, we would like to give you a taste of the most important steps from customer journey and show how you can efficiently use preference centers to understand your subscribers’ interests.

TIP: Having Unique content works better when AI tries to identify the best content for each profile.

How to set up a preference center?

Once you speak with your dedicated client success manager and outline the email strategy as well as customer journey steps and Setup your Flows, please refer to the Initial Flows guide to learn more about customer journey. The next step is uploading your editorials. Please refer to our Editorials guide to see how to upload Editorials.

Now, your customer journey is created as well. It is time to activate your real-time traffic and onboard your data.

Great! Your data starts flowing to InboxSuite, AI planned campaigns are sent according to the customer journey but now it is time to gather more data regarding your subscribers’ behavior.

Setting up the Preference Center is quite easy and straightforward. You just need to place a ${subsman} substitute in your HTML and highlight it, so that it will take your subscriber to the preference center.

A simple example would look like this:

Now, you have a Preference Center in place as well. But what is the value of having a Preference Center?

1) Allowing your subscribers to decide which flow emails to receive in their customer journey would decrease the unsubscribe rate. One of the reasons for having high unsubscribe rates is receiving unrelated emails to your mailbox.

2) It is great data for our AI mechanism and Recommendation Engines to learn and understand which types of flows your subscribers are interested in. Considering there is a rapid increase in Privacy rules and extended restrictions on collecting data from profiles, allowing your subscribers to willingly give their information related to the flows they are interested in can greatly increase your engagement results. This is what we can consider as collecting zero party data. Collecting data points directly from your subscribers is also a great way to make personal connections with them.

 

How to upload my subscriber data according to their interests?

This is a question that we hear a lot from our clients. It is normal that you already know your subscribers’ interests and would like them to start their journey directly from that point. No problem!

In InboxSuite, we allow our clients to upload their subscriber information according to the flow a profile is interested in.

You can also integrate these APIs with your website after you create interest flows. By doing that, when you collect subscribers, you will be able to directly pass us the information which interest flows your subscribers would like to be in. Based on that information, AI will work on finding the best content within those interest flows and target your subscribers at the right time.

On top of that, with InboxSuite we can create custom segmentations on our end based on the information from custom data points. Later on these segmentations can be used in interest flows and only those subscribers matching the segmentation criteria will receive the campaigns.

Subsman.inboxsuite.com provides an API for managing the statuses of profiles on the website and subscriptions/unsubscriptions of editorial flows.

The handler allows you to set or change the last name and first name in website parameters (bin - siteparams).

One of the parameters (fname, lname) is required.

 

Here is one you may be interested in: set_auto_csids. This will allow you to decide which flow your subscribers should recieve and which ones your subscribers should not.

Don't worry, you can still send them regular campaigns if they are out of the customer journey flow.
 

You can also update a profile’s status using the subsman API.

Allowed statuses:

unsubscribe(10), subscribe(11), double subscribe(12), legacy(100). 

All of the parameters (apikey, email and status) are required.

Restriction:

If the profile has DOI status on the website(12), it cannot be changed to SOI (11).
